VERONICA RICHARDS: I'm attorney Veronica Richards. And I've been handling medical malpractice cases since the late 1980s. Before I went to law school, I worked as a nurse and then received my master's degree as a nurse practitioner. After I finished my master's I worked at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh in nursing administration and in neurosurgery, which was my clinical specialty.
I decided to go to law school because as a nurse, I was a patient advocate. And I believe nurses are the frontline in hospitals to protect patients. And I found that I was frustrated within the healthcare system and believed that I could take those skills and be more effective as an attorney patient advocate.
My medical background gives me an advantage, which also gives my clients an advantage, because I know what questions to ask. And most importantly, I know where to find the answers.
I've handled cases across the State of Pennsylvania.
