SANDRA NEUMAN: I'm attorney Sandra Neuman. And I've been handling medical malpractice cases since 1996. Primarily, I was interested in the study of law and wanted to do something that would benefit people. I had thought about going to medical school or law school. And in my last couple years of undergraduate, I really decided that it was the law I wanted to go into.
The hardest part of my job is probably meeting families who have suffered horrific loss or that they've suspected that something has happened to their spouse or their child.
I'm a mother of three children. So it's always hard to hear those type of stories. And that is--it's difficult. It's a difficult part of the job and understanding that on a day-to-day basis their lives have been irrevocably changed.
